Dog Collars

These collars are made from Latigo leather, chosen for its strength, body, and ability to handle real use. Preciosa Crystals and metal hardware add the decorative detail, but the work still starts with the practical questions: how it fits, how it wears, and how the finished collar feels on a dog.

Small Leather Goods

Useful pieces with personal engraving and hand finishing.

Wallets, coin purses, koozies, and bracelets give the leather work room to be playful. The embossed pieces begin with custom patterns made on a shop-built CNC router, then the designs are pressed into wet leather with a 2 ton press. Some pieces are built around cycling graphics, some around giftable everyday use, and some around crystal or metal detail, but they all share the same attention to layout, finish, and how the piece feels in hand.

Small notebooks with laser-engraved designs.

These 3.5 x 5 inch leather notebooks were made as Christmas gifts for family. Each cover was laser engraved, sealed, and finished by hand, with different techniques used depending on the leather color.

Technique

Getting laser engraving to show on darker leather.

Dark engraving on light leather is straightforward: engrave the image and seal it with Resolene. Darker leather needs a different approach. These covers are sealed first, engraved, then treated with a custom mix of Fiebing's Neutral Antique Finish and silver flake acrylic paint. The finish is rubbed over the full surface and wiped back quickly so the engraved lines brighten without leaving the rest of the leather looking unfinished.
